Early Work

Alan Mackay.
Painter and sculptor.
Date Of Birth: 3rd April 1943.

Attended Camberwell Art School 1960-1964 Where I specialised in painting although the first part of the course had a stone carving module.

My paintings and sculptures are made to realise a sense of monumentality. I work with careful deliberation to remove inessentials, tightening my grip on the idea, seeking in nature and the human form, shapes that are both expressive and contain an element of visual drama.
